SAT Test Center Covid-19 Requirements

Dear SAT Coordinator at Test Center 42443,

Thank you for administering the SAT® and all that you do to support students at your testing center. We are writing to share important information about our updated covid-19 policies.

Specifically, there are changes to our policies related to masks and health surveys which may require action on your part by February 21, so please read carefully.

Effective with the March 2022 SAT weekend administration:
●     The College Board requirement that staff and students wear masks remains in
place for 2022; however, centers where local policy or practice does not
require masks during school may opt out of this requirement for the March
      SAT administration.
●     If your center will continue to require masks, you do not need to take any action.
o    Centers requiring masks should continue to display the “check in
poster” received in 2021 and ask each student to affirm the
statements on it before entering the center. We recommend centers
keep extra masks on hand for students who forget theirs.
●     For centers opting out of the mask policy:
o     If your center will not be requiring masks for the March 2022 SAT
weekend administration, please post that information, clearly marked as
pertaining to the March 12-13 SAT, on your institution’s website by
February 21 so that all students, even those who don’t attend your
                 school, can view it.
o     If a center does not post this information, it will be assumed that masks
                 are required at that center.
o     If a student(s) wants to wear a mask at a center that has opted out of the
mask requirement, that must be permitted.
o    Centers that have opted out of requiring masks may forego the check in
poster and affirmation of statements on it as well.

A few notes on what College Board will communicate to students later this month:
●     College Board will recommend students bring a mask, especially if they haven’t
      checked their center’s policy.
●     College Board will ask students who are experiencing symptoms of illness to
postpone taking the SAT at no cost.

We recognize that the public health environment and national and local guidance are changing constantly, so we will continue to monitor the situation and update these guidelines as needed. As always, for all policies and procedures related to the SAT administration, please consult your SAT Coordinator Manual and reach out to us with any questions.

Thank you,
