About

BISD received a federal grant for our afterschool program. The program is now called Texas ACE and is funded by a grant from the US Department of Education’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers program.

Texas ACE empowers students to realize their potential and change the world!

Texas ACE provides thousands of students across the state with:

  • Interactive, hands-on learning disguised as fun and aligned to the school curriculum
  • Enrichment activities such as legos, robotics, coding, piano, ukulele, baby-sitter training, CPR training, art, and handcrafts.
  • Homework help, study strategies, time management, and other targeted, needs-based academic assistance as well as high impact tutoring in math and reading.

Students are expected to attend a minimum of 60 days during the school year and an adult family member is expected to attend family engagement activities held on the third Thursday of each month.

The afterschool program is for 110 students grades K-8. A parent or guardian must pick up the student(s) by 6:10 PM. Students eat dinner at the end of the school day and get a snack to take home each evening. First priority is for students who qualify for Accelerated Learning and their siblings. Please click on the link on the right side to complete a registration form. There is no cost to the family. The program begins August 26 and a maximum of 15 students from each grade level will be accepted into the program. You will be notified within 24 hours if your child has been accepted into the program or placed on the wait list.
