Welcome to Ms. Rochard's Classroom!

It's going to be a great year of fun and learning. This is my 21st year teaching and my 5th year in Brackett and every year has been an adventure with lots of interesting reading and writing and storytelling, and this year will be even better because we will appreciate getting back to all the amazing things that we used to take for granted like pep rallies and smiling at each other and... drinking out of water fountains. (Hopefully!)

I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you and reading all your stories and exploring literature together.
You're probably curious about me, so here's the run-down. I was born and raised in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School (not Permian). I then moved to Lubbock and graduated from Texas Tech University - Wreck 'em Tech!!!

I have three grown children (Meagan, Matthew & Mikey) and a dogs (Quincy) that you will no doubt be hearing lots of stories about through the year. I love to travel and my daughter is always planning adventures for us. Three years ago we spent Christmas in a teepee in the Big Bend, 2 years ago we trekked through cave dwellings in Colorado, and last summer we toured much of Tennessee - including Graceland and Dollywood.

In my free time I enjoy reading, antiquing, researching my genealogy, and working on my 150 year-old house.
I have been in love with this town since I was fifteen years old. My grandparents moved here in 1982, and I spent my summers in college working at the Fort Clark pool and sitting by the creek. I'd always dreamed of moving here, and when my last *baby* graduated from high school, I quit my job, sold my house and moved down. My "happy place" is sitting in my grandfathers rocker on my front porch with a cup of hot tea and a book, watching the deer and listening to the birds.
